Vietnamese tourist hotspots that glowed on the global map

The newspaper releases an annual list of 52 best travel destinations every year. However, due to Covid-19 travel restrictions, it termed this year’s version “52 places to love in 2021” and instead of using recommendations from travel writers, asked readers to write about a place of special significance. The paper then chose 52 destinations to highlight from a list of more than 2,000.

Con Dao, notorious once as “hell on earth” by virtue of inhuman treatment of prisoners in a prison built by the French colonialists, continued its notoriety under the American-backed regime during the Vietnam War.

Vietnamese tourist hotspots that glowed on the global map this year
In February, Phong Nha-Ke Bang, a UNESCO heritage site, was chosen among the world’s 25 best national parks by TripAdvisor readers.

“The karst formation of Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park has evolved since the Paleozoic some 400 million years ago and so is the oldest major karst area in Asia,” the world’s most popular travel guide and review website said.

The Phong Nha-Ke Bang Park was recognized as a global heritage site by the UNESCO in 2003. With over 3,000 caves and grottoes, it is often called the “Kingdom of Caves.”

However, only 30 caves, including Son Doong, the world’s largest cave, are now open to visitors. The province is limiting tourism activities in the area to avoid commercial ov[……]

6 Tops Tips for Travelling the Philippines

Boats, Sumillion Island
Travelling to the Philippines is something that everybody should put on their bucket list. I have written down my 6 top tips for travelling the Philippines that I personally believe will help improve your experience.

My best tips include ways to avoid spending unnecessary money, how to plan for Philippine transport, and other helpful things I picked up along the way.

So here it is, my 6 top tips for travelling the Philippines.

Number 1: Leave Yourself an Entire Day to Travel to Each Destination.

We used all types of public transport in the Philippines and a number of factors can affect their punctuality. The main reason for delays is down to the typhoons. We boarded 2 ferries throughout our trip, both of which were cancelled for up to 24 hours, and our flight to Boracay was delayed by 6 hours. Buses that are supposed to take 3 hours actually take 6… the list goes on.

Just bare in mind that things go wrong!

If they don’t, then hey! you’ve gained yourself a couple of hours – Bonus.

Number 2: Don’t Book Your Accommodation More Than a Day in Advance!

6 most helpful tips for travelling the Philippines
Okay, so if you are looking into a place and everything is booking up, you might make an exception. Booking accommodation in Boracay beforehand is recommended as it is usually really busy with tourists, but hear me out. In general, I would advise that you don’t book anything in advance.

The main reason for this is based on Number 1, things go wrong. If your transport is delayed, you will need to make new arrangements and[……]

MALBEC, MALBEC AND MORE MALBEC! SPENDING TWO WONDERFUL DAYS IN MENDOZA, ARGENTINA!

It is no secret that I love a good glass of vino.

Ever since I was little I have enjoyed wine. I remember being so excited as a kid whenever I would be allowed to have a small sip on special occasions.

As a result, I have sought out some wonderful wine tastings during my time, the most memorable being in the Barossa Valley which is conveniently located just a stones throw from my childhood home; and also in South Africa’s Cape Winelands.

So, when I starting planning a trip to Argentina, it went without saying that I would be paying a visit to Mendoza, a wine region famous for one wine – the malbec.

We had two full days to spend in this stunning wine region, and the success of each day was vastly different.

On our first day in Malbec, we thought that we could just wing it and walk to some wineries that were located right next to each other.

That plan didn’t exactly work out.

Our first problem was that the wineries were actually much more spread out than they appeared on the map, which wouldn’t have been such an issue, except that after walking a long, long way… almost all of them were freaking closed!

After hours of this I had pretty much lost hope that the day was even slightly salvageable, but luckily, one beautiful winery came through for us!

I can’t remember of this winery, or which region it was in, but the tasting was excellent, the location was stunning, and it was kind of exactly what I’d had in mind when I envisioned my time in Mendoza.

UK family travel blog

It may surprise you to know that we are actually a UK family travel blog. I am British, I was born and raised in Wales and my kids were born in London. We left the UK to travel and have returned for long trips and visits many times. This is our UK travel blog, guide, and tips section. It will help you plan your trip or UK itinerary. You can jump straight to a place, attraction, or destination in the UK from the links below.

UK beach. Beautiful sandy beach in the UK
The UK has some beautiful beaches and we do, indeed, swim from them and otherwise enjoy them. I love UK beaches in winter, rough seas and stormy skies on the British coastline are something you should experience. For me a deserted winter beach is far more beautiful that a crowded summer seaside scene.

All of our UK travel blog posts are in one place here. (we are updating today, somr parts are temporarily removed – sorry!)

Wales and London have their own separate sections because the volume we have on London is just too huge.

You may find our post on the UK with kids useful too, if you’re first time family travellers.

The United Kingdom is more correctly known as The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, The UK or U.K. It is a sovereign country separated from the main European continent by water.

It is a part of the continent of Europe, but Brexit is yet to determine if it will remain part of the European Union.

11 Best Things To Do In Dubai

Dubai is one of those cities that’s so much more than meets the eye. Beyond the glossy building exteriors, there’s a wealth of award-winning restaurants, cultural hubs and incredible souks that you have to see. Honestly, there’s just so many of the best things to do in Dubai that are dotted all across the city.

j3922
For the longest time, I’d always disregarded Dubai as just another city, one that’s glitz and the shiny cityscape is lacking in culture somehow. If you’ve ever been to Dubai, you might know what I mean? It can be too shiny for its own good if that makes sense?

Now, this isn’t bad, but for some reason, I assumed that would mean it’s missing that jigsaw piece that makes up other cities like; Tokyo, London or New York.

Best Things To Do In Dubai (26)
How wrong I was, you just need to scratch the surface to uncover a treasure-trove of culture, art and food that dreams are made of.

Take a look at some of the very best things to do in Dubai. And, with all our posts, if you need any tips or advice, just pop us a message. We’re always happy to help.

Best things to do in Dubai

1.) See the historic fishing town of Al Bastakiya

oms8u
Before Dubai was, well… Dubai, the area was scattered with small fishing villages that dotted the shoreline. I’m all for the glossiness of Dubai but I equally love to see some of the older parts of the city.

Take a moment from the towering city and head over to the Bastakiya Quarter, which has stood the test of time (even if this mega-metropolis of a city has grown around it).[……]
